Mosquito Control Reston
Reston is a planned community that was created in the 1960s, and currently has a population of 58,404, and is just over twenty miles from Washington DC. Since the community was planned there are a number of trails throughout the city to make it easy to bike or walk to the city center, and in 2017, Money Magazine listed Reston as 29th in the Best Places to Live in America. Reston is also home to Lake Fairfax Park, which offers boating and hiking opportunities. The community was planned to preserve nature and provide a relaxing wooded community, and while it does have cool and usually mild winters, the hot humid summers make Reston a breeding ground for mosquitoes and other insects. Reston homeowners and businesses have found that when it comes to eliminating mosquitoes on their property, Mosquito Tek can not only completely exterminate all the swarming adult mosquitoes, but they can also provide quality mosquito control that can eliminate them from your property. Completely exterminating mosquitoes is important when you consider that they are known carriers of deadly diseases like West Nile virus which has already been reported in Fairfax.
Eliminate Mosquitoes Where They Breed
Most mosquito control companies exterminate adult mosquitoes by using a barrier spray as the primary way to eliminate the main swarm, but if you do not address the areas where mosquitoes lay their eggs then you will have a continuous cycle of mosquitoes that keep returning. When Mosquito Tek performs a mosquito treatment, the technician will inspect your property for breeding sites and eliminate any standing water in containers, and apply larvicide to standing water that occurs naturally, such as in ponds. The larvicide will not harm other aquatic insects, nor is it dangerous to the environment of local wildlife.
Conventional and Organic Treatment Options
For the toughest mosquito infestations, Mosquito Tek offers a conventional barrier spray that will last up to twenty-one days using the Talstar product line, which has been voted the best conventional mosquito insecticide on the market for the last five years. For customers that prefer a solution that uses all natural ingredients, there’s an organic mosquito control option that is NOP compliant and has no aquatic setback. The organic treatment uses the Essentria line of products which are safe to use around organic gardens, and is completely safe for plants, your pets and other wildlife, and is effective for up to fourteen days.
Protect Your Pets and Your Family from Fleas and Ticks
Mosquitoes are not the only insect that can spread diseases that can harm your family and pets. Fleas and ticks can also put your family at risk for things like typhus, Lyme disease, and Rocky Mountain spotted fever. They can also affect your pets and make them miserable with scratching and sick from a variety of flea and tick-borne illnesses. Mosquito Tek offers an optional tick control upgrade with each mosquito control treatment, or if you only want to get the tick and flea treatments done you can select it as an individual service.
